Ride Wild Rapids: White Water Rafting in Costa Rica

If you’re someone who likes to sprinkle their vacations with a little adventure, you should definitely look into Costa Rica’s white water rafting scene. There are plenty of options from which to choose when you stay at El Castillo Boutique Luxury Hotel. Not only will you have the opportunity to take on Costa Rica rapids, but you’ll also be able to witness more of the country’s natural beauty.

What to Expect for White Water Rafting in Costa Rica

Come prepared for your white water rafting tour. Make sure you wear sturdy footwear like water shoes, an old pair of tennis shoes, or sandals with straps (no flip flops). You’ll also want to wear a swimsuit and light clothing that dries quickly. Slather on sunscreen before you hit the water (your skin will thank you!). You may also want to bring along a dry set of clothing and a towel.

Most tours have a variety of rapid levels from which to choose. A level I is great for first-timers, for instance. Experienced rowers can ask about their higher level rapids. Communicate any questions or concerns you may have to your guide, and you’ll be good to go. While every tour is a little different, if there’s one thing you can absolutely expect: you’ll have a great time.

H20 Adventures

Head on up to H20 Adventures, where there are myriad white water rafting tour options from which to choose. H20 Adventures is near Manuel Antonio National Park, which harbors striking views of the forest and tropical birds.

Dominical Surf Adventures

Take on the Savegre River, one of the most pristine rivers in Costa Rica, when you ride with Dominical Surf Adventures. Your tour includes a snack, lunch, rafting equipment, transportation, and a ton of fun. Participants must know how to swim, be able to walk on slippery, unstable surfaces, and paddle. Safety first!

Rafting Uvita

Rafting Uvita also takes you on an adventure down the Savegre River. There are calm sections between rapids, so you can take a moment to soak in your surroundings, chat with your guide, and give yourself a break before the next adrenaline-pumping rapid.
